Uxvae – the duo of M. Adem and B.W. Bray – weave a seamless whole from the threads of avant and modal idioms, creating a musical fabric that transcends traditional boundaries. Amid Ananke's harmonies hang evocative, shifting vocal tones and dense, psychedelic guitar layers that intertwine to form an all-encompassing haze. Like the self-formed being for whom this piece is named, Ananke is a composition summoned from emotional necessity and urgency, regulated by the intellect of harmonics and modal scales and informed by ancient theories of cosmic formation and inward revelation.
